This trio
of images was taken from research I have done with a family
of grizzlies that were taken out of Yellowstone National Park
as "three strike bears". They still live together
as one big (and I do mean big) happy family in Big Bear Lake,
CA at the Moonridge Animal Park. They are kept in this sanctuary
as wild bears and so they still exhibit beautiful wild bear
behaviors. It has been wonderful to observe these magnificent
creatures up close, yet with safety for me. These images reflect
different aspects of bear behavior and personality, and when
I painted them I always saw them as a lovely set that belonged
together to show the many moods of these incredible creatures.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this image is donated
to Moonridge Animal park for the continued care of these animals.
