It is
a recessive gene (the same thing that causes blue eyes in
humans) that creates a black jaguar. This was an actual litter
of cubs ... their mother and father both carried the gene
that causes the black phase, so out came this wonderful mix.
On this particular day, the black cub was the sleepy one of
the bunch, and since he was the odd man of the group anyhow
... well, you get the idea. It was a great joy to depict the
cubs at this age. They were six months old at the time and
you can really see how they are perfect jaguars in miniature
